Two underground legends on one track. These two revolutionized Hip-Hop on their own, and this song is ridiculous awesome. The Professor discovered and produced Nas's first album (one of the most important ever), and Q-Tip is from A Tribe Called Quest (nothing more to say there). Anyways, just listen and feel lucky.

This track is just fresh off their upcoming new album featuring Matias Aguayo, a techno and house musician for a penchant for the weird (probably the reason why Battles would collaborate with him). It features the same non-legible vocals, crazy rhythms on the dime but gone are the hard hitting drums and that aggressive in-your-face vibe. Its a lot more goofier, funkier and it sounds like a day in the Carribean having the time of their lives down. Whatcha think?

Four Tet- Pinnacles

Four Tet and Caribou are planning a split release 7" to showcase their new tracks. So far Pinnacles seems like an extension from his latest offering, "There is Love in You," in terms of its subtle house influences, the dancey vibe without going over the top and its minimalism. There is also a hint of krautrock present in the repetitive nature of the hook, but FT manages to keep it interesting with various fills of bells, aqueous samples and sweeping pans. Quite uncharacteristically, he definitely indulges himself in the track as the song could easily have been cut down by half. Not one of his best but a banger nonetheless.

So this is the same dude that was remixed in my RMX post. The group is Childish Gambino, gotten from a buddy, but what I didn't know was that he was a successful writer for NBC.

Last.FM: Donald Glover is best known for his work on the NBC show Community alongside Joel McHale and Chevy Chase. Glover has also been a writer for the NBC series 30 Rock and is part of the comedy sketch group Derrick Comedy. He graduated from New York University with a degree in Dramatic Writing in 2006. He was nominated for the Writers Guild of America Award award for Best Comedy Series at the February 2009 ceremony for his work on the third season of 30 Rock.
